Step 1 – Eat at Lest 5 fruit and veg every day
Eating 5 fruit and veg every day can fill you up very quickly resulting in you not snacking, the other benefit is that fruits and veg are low in calories!
So you are feeling full and not consuming lot’s of calories, it’s a win win if you ask me…
Step 2 – Portion Sizes
You can still eat most of your favourite foods but you must look at the portion sizes you are consuming. There is really no need to be eating a full plate of rice as the calorie consumption can be very high. Instead why not eat a quarter of your usual intake?…You are still eating a favourite food but a much healthier portion!…
Step 3 - Don’t cut out all your favourite foods
Never try to cut out all of your favourite foods, make sure that once a week you do treat yourself because you have been behaving and heating healthy. This is one of the rewards of dieting…so be kind to yourself, However that does not mean you over indulge and make up for the whole week that you have missed out on eating your develish delights!…
Step 4 – Watch out for soft drinks with sugar
When you’re out and about and the sun is providing it’s lovely heat, its very easy to just pick up a fizzy drink and not think about the amount of sugar you are about to consume! A typical 500ml bottle of fizzy drink can contain up to 5 spoonfuls of sugar!…YES 5 SPOONFULS!…I say no more…Just carry a bottle of water around with you…it’s less destructive!…
Step 5 – Do not skip meals
Try to avoid skipping meals throughout the day, as when the next meal comes you will be scoffing away at more food to make up for the missed meals. Try to have smaller meals throughout the day to try and balance your calorie intake rather than consuming loads of calories in 3 separate meals!…
Step 6 - Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day
Apart from the obvious, it keeps you hydrated it will also help steer you clear of fizzy and other high sugary drinks. The other benefit of water is it will keep you feeling full resulting in little or no snacking!…
Start with these few steps to help you stick to your diet longer to make it more successful!
